I was conversing to my friend who had gone for the India-South Africa ODI at Eden Gardens and had asked him who he was cheering for..as in Dravid or Dhoni or whoever, and he promptly said - "SA of course!!The whole ground supported SA and they were confused whether they were playing in Kolkata or Cape Town" All this in regard to Sourav's exclusion from the team..and he defended it vehemently..saying that they were fully aware that supporting a foreign nation on home ground is wrong but they did it nonetheless and will do it again!!And not only are the bengalis at fault here..the whole stadium was a party to it.Now that is a curious situation indeed,the general opinion seems to be in the lines that Sourav does not deserve to be thrown out when the big guns like Sachin et al keep on ensuring their postions in the team by scoring a first innings hundered and failing to cross the twenty's in the next eight innings.The more serious statistics lover objects to the manner in which he was..usurped - shall we say? But what everyone failed to think was that what message would the city give out to the foreigners.If our country involves itself in a war and the most popular leader gets usurped we shall not be expected to support the foreign nation involved.The question seems to be that should the public be emotionally motivated into going against its own team or blindly support the team because it is the 'own' team in the first place.There is some food for thought.

Gothic is a culture, it’s a lifestyle, and it is primarily in the philosophy of a man,and not his outlook. Of course, a Gothic musician is known by his/her black flowing robe n coloured nails onstage,and taste in music is definitely a prime trait. Pioneered by bands like the British ‘Bauhaus’,a style of singing popularized by the dark bands like ‘Black Sabbath’, and in the 90’s the Dutch ‘The Gathering’, Gothic music has come a long way.Gothic culture was based on gothic horror,romanticism,nihilism,and modern gothic music with distinct influences of the singing style of Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) and Freddy Mercury (Queen) and related genres like Power metal,a genre dominated by Europeans –Blind Guardian (Germany),Rhapsody Of Fire(Italy),Angra (Brazil), Evergrey (Sweden) Stratovarious and Sonata Arctica (both from Finland) fuse orchestral background,extremely fast drumming and neo classical guitaring.The most outstanding feature of modern gothic and power bands are their influences by epic wars,and J.R.R Tolkien.Nightwish,Within Temptation and Lacuna Coil are probably most popular gothic bands in recent times.
Maturity breeds subtleness. Putting up a show and all those outlandish accessories are natural,a gothic musical group’s performance combines music,emotion,entertainment and theatrics.But carrying off the same outlook off the stage might attract unnecessary attention,and discretion being the sign of maturity,the desperate measure to stand out amidst a crowd and then to complain shows anything but.

It is fashionable nowadays to either be online all the time,or to disapprove it with vigour and see it as evil..Of course for those who browse aimlessly,and spend sleepless nights chatting,the term 'heavy user' is applicable,but is using the same term for people who spend over 8 hours a week justified?Just over an hour of internet usage a day cannot be so harmful,atleast on paper.Does not easy internet accessibilty show progress?When someone is busy sleeping someone else is reading up short biographies of Plato to Dave Matthews,various online communities giving them the option to talk abt their passions and hence develop more.For a music lover,befriending an international musician,or even his peer on the other end of the country is not an impossibility anymore.For a football lover following all the major and minor international leagues is a possibility if he decides to dedicate all his time to the game.Similar are the cases for literature and politics.And the most important feature of present society is communication,should it not be utilised?For those who stay up all night,most of them choose to,because they like it.Some of them have adapted to that way.Internet usage is definitely not a defence mechanism like alcohol or drugs.And is it not anyway a better option to talk to friends spread all over the globe than losing money and dignity at a discotheque?And a computer normally never has a biological bad effect unless it falls on somebody.It is natural,however, to be alarmed by an excess of internet usage without much professional aim.But an excess of vitamin rich fruits might also result in an extremely unhappy stomach.The answer is to control and utilise,neither to be entirely dependent on the internet,nor to shun it absolutely.
